Our fundraising efforts over the last couple of months have been mainly based around baking, and the staff here certainly aren’t complaining!
First up, we had our Macmillan Coffee Morning in which staff at both of our offices in Kent baked and donated cakes and sweet treats in order to raise money for Macmillan. Our staff’s efforts contributed towards a huge £20 million raised from these coffee mornings nationwide!
Secondly, we hosted our own Halloween & Bonfire Night themed CaseWare Bake Off to raise money for our chosen charity for 2019 – Evelina London Children’s Hospital. We had an extremely impressive turnout and raised over £110 for the extremely worthy cause. With prizes up for grabs, it was taken very seriously!
Well done to our winner of “Best Bake in Show” Emma Amess, Senior Technical Support Consultant – who impressed the judges with her Guy Fawkes themed “Brexit up in Smoke” cake with a certain MP as the Guy (not naming any names of course!) As well as being very well decorated and on-theme, apparently it tasted nice too. I wouldn’t know, it disappeared very quickly!! (Is it too early to volunteer myself as a judge for 2020 Bake Off?!)
Well done to our other winners:
Sandra Wood, HR & Office Manager – “Best Bake in Biscuit” AND “Best Bake in Cupcake” categories
Georgie Fleming, Education & Media Technician – Best Bake in Savoury category
Also a very special mention to Phil Wiles, Client Services Director, who has very successfully won Worst Bake in Show every year since 2014 with his very solid performance! Keep up the good work Phil – personally I thought your biscuits were…well…okay, they were a bit on the tough side!
Thank you to all those who baked and donated cakes to both of these events, and thank you to all the staff who went out of their way to eat the cakes – we know it’s tough, and we appreciate your efforts!!
